Positions are available at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agriculture Research Service (ARS), Crop Improvement and Genetics Research Unit, in Albany, California with the GrainGenes database project. GrainGenes is a data delivery platform for small grains communities (wheat, barley, rye, and oat), and serves as a long-term central repository for peer-reviewed data. GrainGenes creates, develops, and implements public facing tools to help global small grains geneticists and breeders to improve plant quality, yield, and nutrition. We use Drupal as a front-end and have plans to develop modules to interact with genomes and agricultural crop data.
